Vimbai Tanyanyiwa filed a complaint with the MCC over a story published by the online site Zimbabwe24SevenNews on 13 April 2016 headlined, “Harare Party Animal, Vimbai Tanyanyiwa in court for smashing lover’s phone after discovering he was cheating”
Vimbai stated that while the online site plagiarized the article from the tabloid H-Metro, she was concerned with being referred to as a “party animal” by Zimbabwe24sevennews in contrast to the H-Metro which called her a “socialite”. She therefore felt that her image had been tarnished by the reference and was demanding a retraction from the online portal.
Status: Closed
The case was closed following failure to locate the publishers of zimbabwe24sevennews.
