Masimba Biriwasha filed his complaint with the MCC over an advertisement that was placed in the classifieds section of The Sunday Mail on 5th June 2016.
Biriwasha’s complaint is that his relative Felistas Jeche Mamvura responded to a job advertisement in the Sunday Mail which turned out to be fraudulent. He says as a result Mamvura was conned and prejudiced of $40 which was allegedly supposed to be for transportation to Victoria Falls as advised by the people behind the advert.
Biriwasha states that newspapers have a responsibility to check the truthfulness of adverts placed in the advertisement section and be more proactive by strengthening internal controls so as to avoid any prejudice to readers of the newspaper.

The Sunday Mail is yet to respond to the complaint and written communication was sent to them.
