The Voluntary Media Council of Zimbabwe (VMCZ) will this week launch its report entitled “The State of Journalism Ethics in Zimbabwe” at various press clubs around the country.
The dates and venues are as follows:
· Mutare (16 October 2013)
· Masvingo (17 October 2013)
· Gwanda ( 18 October 2013)
The study was conducted by Dr Wallace Chuma, a media studies lecturer at the University of Cape Town and it highlights the state of the media in Zimbabwe. The findings are juxtaposed to the journalistic ethics and professional expectations.
The Chairperson of the Media Ethics Committee Mr Tapfuma Machakaire will speak at the respective Press Clubs on the topic: “Media Ethics and Professionalism in Zimbabwe”
NB: The VMCZ secretariat will collect membership fees during the launch. The annual membership fee is $10.
