Mr. Tseisi expressed concern to the VMCZ over an image published by the NewsDay on July 15 2014. Mr. Tseisi says the caption of the picture which reads: “Five of RMG Independent End Time Message founder Robert Martin Gumbura’s 11 wives at the launch of Tynwald Primary School choir debut gospel album with the disgraced cleric’s 12 childern enrolled at the same school. Some 12 others are at Tynwald Secondary School. Gumbura is serving a 40year jail term for rape. Each of the children pays between $1 200 and $1 300 per term” is offensive.

The VMCZ engaged NewsDay over the matter, highlighting that Section 18 of the code of conduct and ethics stipulates that the media should avoid identifying relatives and friends of persons convicted or accused of crime unless it is necessary for the full, fair and accurate reporting of the crime or legal proceedings.
NewsDay editor Nevanji Madanhire informed the VMCZ that internal discussions on the matter had already taken place and acknowledged that it both the publication and captioning of the pictures was improper and apologized for the same.
