LEAD political party leader, Linda Masarira registered her complaint with theMedia Complaints Committee (MCC) of the Voluntary Media Council of Zimbabwe (VMCZ) over an article published by the website NewZimbabwe.com on 14 July 2019 headlined, “ZANU PF in Lupane East vote buying storm”.
Ms. Masarira argues that the article attributes false statements to her and that her attempts to engage the reporter on the matter have been futile.
Status: Resolved
Following intervention by the MCC, the editor of the website and the complainant reached consensus on the correction to the disputed elements of the article and this was duly effected on 1 August 2019.
